Chimney Sweep Enfield
Chimney and stove sweeping across Enfield, from Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park out to Forty Hill, Enfield Chase and Ponders End. A smoke test and a certificate for your insurer come with every sweep, from £95.
Your local chimney sweep in Enfield
Enfield has a bit of everything. Around Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park there are Edwardian terraces and villas, many still with their original cast-iron fireplaces and tiled hearths. Grange Park, Winchmore Hill and Southgate have whole streets of 1930s semis with a flue to most rooms, while Ponders End and Southbury mix older Victorian terraces with post-war homes. Up towards Forty Hill and Enfield Chase the houses get bigger and the stacks taller, and plenty have had wood burners fitted in the last few years.
Whichever you've got, the visit runs the same way. We protect the room, sweep the flue with the vacuum running, check the appliance and smoke-test the chimney. If anything needs attention, you get photos and a straight answer on the day, not a vague note left on the mantelpiece.

What we find in Enfield chimneys
A handful of problems turn up in Enfield homes more than any others.
Edwardian fireplaces back in use
Lots of Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park homes have opened up their original fireplaces again. Those flues are often unlined, so we sweep carefully, check for loose mortar and suggest a camera survey before regular use.
1930s semis with spare flues
Semis in Grange Park, Winchmore Hill and Southgate often have three or four pots but only one fire in use. Disused flues collect nests and debris, so we check which one is live and can guard or cap the rest.
Stoves and smoke control
Like most of London, Enfield is covered by smoke control orders, so stoves generally need to be Defra-exempt or burn authorised fuel. We check your appliance on the day and flag anything worth confirming with Enfield Council.

Enfield chimney sweep FAQs
Questions Enfield homeowners ask us before booking.
Which parts of Enfield do you cover?
All of it: Enfield Town, Bush Hill Park, Enfield Chase, Forty Hill, Ponders End, Southbury, Grange Park and Enfield Lock, plus Winchmore Hill and Southgate. If your postcode starts EN1, EN2, EN3, N21 or N14, we cover you. For Edmonton and Palmers Green, see our North London chimney sweep page.
How much does a chimney sweep cost in Enfield?
£95 per flue for a standard sweep, including a visual inspection, smoke test, clean-up and certificate. A CCTV chimney inspection adds £75, or it's £170 for both together. Our chimney sweep cost guide goes into more detail.
Is Enfield a smoke control area?
Enfield, like most London boroughs, is covered by smoke control orders. In practice that means burning only authorised smokeless fuels, or using a Defra-exempt stove with the fuel it's approved for. If you're unsure about your address, check with Enfield Council, and we'll tell you what we can see on your appliance when we visit.
Can you check an old fireplace in my 1930s semi or Edwardian terrace?
Yes. For a flue that's been boarded up for years, we recommend a sweep with a CCTV inspection, which shows any blockage, old nests or damage before you light anything. If you already have a stove, it's worth adding a stove service on the same visit.
Do you cover Cheshunt and Waltham Cross too?
Yes. Enfield runs straight into Hertfordshire, so we're regularly in Cheshunt and Waltham Cross as well. It's the same £95 per flue, and every visit comes with a chimney sweep certificate.
